And as a final point, we emphasize that the government of Ecuador is working to make the Napo River a major transportation corridor as part of the continent wide initiative known as IIRSA (The Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America).

Thus in the future, there will likely be much more river traffic and much stronger pressures on the oil roads extending from the Napo River down into the Yasuni region.
